Using Statcounter

Ignore your own visits

Prevent your own visits to your website from being recorded by Statcounter to ensure your stats are not skewed by your browsing activity.

Prior to ignoring your visits, you'll be able to identify them on Recent Activity reports such as Visitor Activity and Page View Activity by the "You" label. You can click this label to see the options for ignoring your visits.

There are two ways to ignore your visits in Statcounter

Ignore Visits from Your IP Address

This is the best method as long as your IP address doesn’t change often.

  1. While Logged in to Statcounter, visit your Projects Page and navigate to the relevant project by clicking on the project title.
  2. Open the Project Config menu at the bottom left of the screen and select Ignore Visits.
  3. Under “Ignore Visits From Others”, select “Ignore your current IP?Address: “ to add your IP address to the list and select the “Save Changes” button.

This will ignore your IP address from the selected project. If you wish to ignore your IP address from all projects, check the checkbox labelled “Ignore IP addresses on all projects.”
